Anhydrous ammonia (NH3) refers to the pure gas or pressurized liquid form of ammonia that does not contain water.

It is used in agriculture and in the manufacture of fertilizers, explosives, cleaning fluids and some pharmaceuticals. Food and beverage companies also use a lot of ammonia for refrigeration, freezing and bulk storage.
